In India the most disadvantaged group in the current population are children. There are millions of children living on the street. Some may have find work in child labor, some are just trying to find food, clothing and a roof for the night. It is a fact that most of these children were born with their parents living in a similar position and there is no way for them to climb back up the social ladder. There is a large group of orphans and there are children who chose to escape from their homes, suffering from abuse.

There is no medical help or education available and some of these children end up hungry, addicted and in some cases prostituted. Jaipur is one of the places where the slums are filled with poor children trying to make it on their own. The I-India organization focuses on these children by providing care and development for them. By offering an extensive program fulfilling short term needs such as providing food and shelter, and long term needs such as schooling, I-India makes a difference by caring for any child on the streets.

Future Hope is a charity providing shelter, food and medical care for vulnerable children living on the streets of Kolkata. Future hope hopes to provide these children with the tools and nourishment they need to evolve and end up in a better situation. Of course all charities involved with the homeless children in India want to help these children become self-supporting members of society.

The Mango Tree Goa is a charity operating from the UK, aimed at helping children in poverty in Goa. By providing education and food and shelter, the charity hopes to improve the lives of the children whose parents came to Goa to find work there in the tourist industry. Even though India has a booming technological industry, a lot of work still needs to be done to improve the lives of many forgotten children.
